Economic Development
The Economic Development Branch facilitates the development, implementation and monitoring of Regional Economic Development strategies and initiatives. Its responsibility is to help strengthen the region through innovative business attraction, development and retention strategies. Our role is to develop and strengthen partnerships between industries, private sector communities and government to support a comprehensive and cohesive economic strategy. Our goal is to champion mutually beneficial working relationships which support a sustainable business environment. Another function is to lead the Regional Economic Development Alliance (REDA) initiative which focuses on stakeholder collaboration and capacity building.
