If I am interested in several positions with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, do I have to submit a resume for each competition?
Every competition is considered separately. If you are applying for several positions, a separate resume is required for each position. Make sure that the competition number is clearly identified on all correspondence.
How are applicants assessed?
All applicants are assessed relative to the qualifications listed on the employment opportunity. Applicants who meet the stated qualifications may be eligible for further consideration. Meeting the minimum qualifications of the posting does not automatically mean you will be "short listed" or selected for the available position as all applicants are assessed on a competitive basis.
How long does the selection process take?
Most competitions have been completed within six weeks.
What jobs are available for students with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo?

Does the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo hire seasonal workers?
Yes. Seasonal employment is full-time, part-time, or on-call work, which generally lasts from one to six months in duration. Most of the seasonal employment jobs are during the spring/summer and typically involve labour related activities. Watch for seasonal job postings in February, March and April.
Do applicants have to go through skill testing or medical testing?
Some positions will require confirmation of skills and/or a pre-employment medical.
Does The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo accept education and training courses completed outside of Canada?
Yes. If any formal education was completed outside Canada, indicate if it has been evaluated for equivalency. If yes, indicate by whom it was assessed. Any foreign education must be formally assessed as equivalent to Canadian education prior to an appointment being made.
