Allan Glenn Vinni
Allan Vinni has lived in Fort McMurray since 2001. He originally moved here for the economic opportunity. It was just after the attack on the World Trade Centre and his plan to move from Whitehorse to Calgary for employment was not working out. Thankfully there were positions in Fort McMurray that needed filling. After arriving in Fort McMurray and getting called to the Alberta bar, Allan opened his own law office in early 2003, and hasn't looked back since.
He and his partner, Tammie Austin, who works as a psychologist at the Northern Lights Regional Hospital, moved to Saprae Creek in March, 2008 and they really enjoy the pace of life there. Throughout the election he frequently heard from residents of Ward 3 that they want to preserve and enhance the country-residential style of life they have become accustomed to. Other issues included land usage, concerns over a lack of municipal services, the need for a community centre on Draper Road and the desire for a golf course at Vista Ridge. Allan plans to focus on each of these issues, and others that are brought forward, throughout his three year term.
Allan is an avid golfer, and he and Tammie both enjoy learning to ballroom dance in their free time. They have a couple horses they try to ride and are experienced travelers. Allan looks forward to being a voice for Ward 3, and is excited about this new challenge.
