Dave Kirschner
Dave Kirschner was born in south central Ontario, but he has lived and worked in Alberta, B.C. and the N.W.T. since 1971. Dave has owned a number of businesses in the fields of transportation, real estate and industrial services. His businesses have held contracts in transportation and supply services with government, oil, and gas companies in N.E. Alberta. He is very familiar with contracts and contract compliance for both the private and public sectors.
He is proud husband to Iris, and father of six children who were born and raised in Fort McMurray. He and Iris own the Kirschner Family Corporation, which is a residential, recreational, and industrial property development agency.
Other community involvements, both past and present, include: City Development Appeal Board Chairman, Fort McMurray Planning Commission member, Parish Council Chairman, School Improvement Team member (French immersion) School Council Chairman, Director and past President of the Federal Conservative Party (Fort McMurray Athabasca). Dave presently sits as Council member on the Northern Alberta Development Council, and is a member of the Oilsands Developers Group working on health, transportation and sustainability issues.
He has received numerous awards, including 2010 Keyano College Distinguished Citizen of the Year, 2008 Federal Riding Association Volunteer of the Year, 2006 Distinguished Citizen (RMWB), 2005 Volunteer of the Year (RMWB), 1999 Alberta Small Business of the Year (Premier's Award of Excellence), and 1997 Oil Sands Rotary Club Integrity award.
Dave is proud to call Fort McMurray home and truly enjoys the people and region of Wood Buffalo.
