Community Services Advisory Committee
Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate funding requests for groups or individuals engaged in the delivery of social, recreational and community services and make recommendations to Council.
- Advise Council on the allocation of grant funds (including Community Development Funding and Rural Grant Funds).
- Recommend allocation of federal and provincial funds received as per the Community Plan on Homelessness.
- Recommend allocation of the Games Legacy Grant.
- Review and evaluate nominees to recognize individual or group contributions from citizens of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo through a recognition award and make recommendations to Council.
- Advise Council on the Civic Award Nominees.
Time Commitment
Meetings are held 3 to 4 times during the year. Members are called as needed to assess applications received for the various programs. Meetings are typically 2 hours in duration.
Eligibility
- Must be 18 years of age; and
- Must be a resident of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
