Regional Emergency Services

Regional Emergency Services (RES) staff is committed to providing high quality emergency services for the people who work and live in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

RES’ priority is to ensure the safety of residents through an integrated program of emergency fire and medical response, and fire prevention.

Rural Emergency Services

RES provides emergency response services to the urban and rural communities in the Municipality. RES services its rural communities by operating five Volunteer Fire Departments. For more information on Rural Emergency Services, click here.

Urban Emergency Services

RES provides emergency services to the urban center of Fort McMurray, operating four fire halls in Fort McMurray.  Three of these fire halls are operational, and one is home to the Fire Prevention Branch and 9-1-1 Communications Centre.
