The Communities We Serve – Rural Emergency Services

Regional Emergency Services is committed to providing high quality emergency response services to all rural communities within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

There are five Volunteer Fire Departments, operating in the communities of:

  • Conklin
  • Anzac
  • Saprae Creek
  • Fort McKay
  • Fort Chipewyan

These Volunteer Fire Departments are operated by Volunteer Firefighters who are given the same training as RES’ full-time firefighters. These members maintain their full-time jobs within their communities, and respond to emergencies when their services are required.

For information about becoming involved with your local Volunteer Fire Department, contact your local Fire Chief or Rural Liaison, Darren Clarke : (780) 792.5500
