Participate in Communities in Bloom

Communities in Bloom Committee

Do you want to participate in beautifying our community while encouraging community involvement and environmental awareness? If so, you should consider joining the Communities in Bloom Committee.

General Duties

Coordinate and assist with established Communities in Bloom activities and programs (Spring Trade Show, Nominate your Neighbour, Business in Bloom, Flower of the Year promotion, Community Clean Up projects, and environmental initiatives)

  • Participate in the development of future projects and programs - WinterLights Celebrations
  • Act as a link to the group(s) that the Committee member represents
  • Encourage other groups/individuals to get involved in Communities in Bloom and WinterLights Celebrations
  • As a team, organize a presentation to Council (results)

Time Commitment

  • One evening meeting per month – approximately 4 hours including reading and preparation time. Meetings are currently held on the last Monday of each month at 5:45 p.m. Attendance is required.
  • Additional time commitment may be required during the months of April (Spring Trade Show), June/July (Nominate your Neighbour/Business in Bloom), August (Judges' visit) and October - early December for WinterLights Celebrations.
