Q. How do I get an ambulance in case of a medical emergency?
A. Call 9-1-1. -
Q. How much does an ambulance cost?
A. Depending on the level of service provided, the cost will be in the range of $226.00 to $272.00 per trip plus $3.03 per kilometer. -
Q. Who do I call in the event of a fire?
A. Call 9-1-1 and please stay on the line to provide dispatch all relevant information. -
Q. How do I report a forest fire or wildfire?
A. If the fire is in the forest, call 310-FIRE. If the fire is in any of the communities within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, call 9-1-1. -
Q. What should I do if the river floods?
A. If you live in a flood zone, the best thing to do is be prepared. For emergency preparedness information and what to do during a flood, see Floods. -
Q. Is there a search and rescue service?
A. Yes. Search and Rescue is provided through the RCMP. To make a report, please call 9-1-1. -
A. The Regional Emergency Operations Centre will assist in finding short and possibly long term accommodations in extraordinary events. Emergency Social Services will also offer assistance.

Q. Are there any evacuation plans or emergency spots?
A. There are plans in place that include secure locations for emergency mustering points. In a state of emergency, municipal officials will come door to door and hand out emergency packages that will have all the information required for the situation. It is important to listen to the radio during these times for emergency updates. -
