Q. How do I report a pot hole or a cracked sidewalk?
A. Please call Road Maintenance Services at (780) 743-7859 and a staff member will go and inspect. Potholes are usually repaired or coned off (depending on the severity) within a short time. Cracked sidewalks are rated on a priority basis and placed on a list. -
Q. When does street sweeping take place? How long will it take? Will there be major traffic delays?
A. Spring clean-up usually begins in April and lasts for approximately six weeks. Street sweeping does not cause major traffic delays. -
Q. Who can I contact if the snow has not been removed from my street and it is becoming a hazard?
A. Please call Road Maintenance Services at (780) 743-7859. Snow removal is done on a priority basis. Primary routes are completed first, followed by secondary routes. Then, if the need requires, all other residential streets will be cleared. -
Q. Does the city remove snow from paved back alleys?
A. If time permits, paved back alleys are cleared after all other roads have been completed. -
Q. A public walk way has ice and is very slippery. Who do I contact to have salt put on it?
A. If the walk way is in front of a residence or business, it is the responsibility of the owner to maintain the walkway. If it has become a hazard, please call the RCMP/Bylaw Complaints line at (780) 788-4000.All other sidewalks and trails are looked after by Road Maintenance Services or the Parks Department. Please use the online Report-A-Problem form and leave your name and number so a staff member can follow up with your report if needed.

Q. What transportation options are there for seniors and people with disabilities?
A. Specialized Transportation Service is an accessible door to door service for seniors, and those unable to board the regular transit system. See Specialized Transportation for more information including booking, hours of service and fees. -
Q. Is there a sidewalk snow clearing program for seniors available?
A. Yes. Road Maintenance Services provides assistance to senior citizens and individuals with disabilities by removing snow from the curb or in front of driveways at residential homes. To apply for the program, please download the snow clearing application for seniors and disabled persons . -
Q. How do I apply for a handicap parking permit?
A. Alberta Government Services runs the Parking Placards for Persons with Disabilities program
. To get a parking permit, a Parking Placard Application Form
must be filled out for you by a doctor, physiotherapist, or occupational therapist. Many doctors' offices will have the application form on hand, but you can also pick up an application at your local Alberta Registry Agent office

Q. Is there a time limit in a parking lot if a sign is not posted?
A. Watch for signs indicating time limits on streets in particular. If a parking lot is private property, they may have their own rules so you can check with the owner.
