Grocery Stores
Fort McMurray has retail grocery outlets for all the major Western Canada grocery chains (Extra Foods, Safeway, Save-On-Foods, Sobeys and Superstore) as well as specialty stores with ethnic foods, and of course corner convenience stores. Most grocery stores are in the downtown area, Thickwood Heights and Timberlea. The Shopping Bag Bylaw in Fort McMurray means that you will need to bring your own bags or to be prepared to pay for bags where you shop.
