2010 Spring Road Bans to take effect next week

(Fort McMurray, AB – March 5, 2010) – Spring road bans will go into effect on Monday, March 8, 2010, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo announced today.

All motorists are to adhere to spring road bans (75% of legal load limit) on the following roads:

• All roads within the hamlet of Fort MacKay
• Thickwood Tower Road
• Draper Road
• All roads within Saprae Creek Estates
• Anzac Crossover Road from Highway 63 east to SH881
• Stoney Mountain Road south of Anzac Crossover Road
• All roads within Gregoire Lake Estates
• All roads within the hamlet of Janvier
• All roads within the hamlet of Conklin
• East/West Road (Conklin)

Road bans occur every year due to seasonal conditions, such as spring thaw. Weight restrictions help preserve the life span of roads within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
