(Fort McMurray, AB – March 8, 2010) – The 2010 Oldtimer’s Hockey Challenge will be arriving at the Casman Centre on March 18, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo announced today.
The Fort McMurray Firefighters Hockey Team will be going up against a number of legendary hockey heroes, including former Edmonton Oiler Glenn Anderson in a hockey game to support local charities. The game is scheduled to occur at 7:00 p.m. in the Thickwood arena.
“The Oldtimer’s Hockey Challenge is an opportunity for members of our fire department to play with legendary hockey players and at the same time donate to the Fort McMurray Firefighters Charities Fund,” said Randy Hoggarth, Charities Chair.
In addition to donations from ticket sales, there will also be a 50/50 draw and programs to purchase by donation. The hockey legends also invite all ticket holders to bring their skates and participate in a pre-game skate with some of the players from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
